On Wednesday, Angkita Dutta lodged a complaint against Srinivas’ wife at the police station in Dispur, the capital of Assam.
The Congress has expelled former Assam youth wing president Angkita Dutta from the party. A few days back, Angkita had accused Youth Congress president Srinivas BV of mental harassment and discrimination. He has been expelled for six years for anti-party activity on Saturday.
BJP targeted Congress
The BJP has targeted the Congress regarding this. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya said that this is the real women empowerment of Congress. Instead of listening to the woman who accuses of exploitation, expel her from the party itself. The manner in which Angkita has been removed is extremely disappointing for women. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had given a slogan – I am a girl, I can fight – this slogan turned out to be hollow.
Angkita Dutta has described herself as the harassed woman president of Assam Youth Congress on her Twitter account.
If Congress does not solve the matter, then the law will solve it.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said- We had asked the Congress to resolve this matter. But now I have come to know that the Congress party has not resolved the matter, but has expelled Angkita from the party. If the Congress does not settle the matter, the law will. When a daughter’s honor is at stake, it is best to take action no matter what.
Allegations found baseless in Congress investigation
According to sources, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee had probed Angkita’s allegations, but they turned out to be baseless and politically motivated. After this, the committee has taken disciplinary action against the leaders for tarnishing the image of the party and the leaders.
The Assam Congress had on Thursday issued a show cause notice to Angkita and asked her to respond within 24 hours. Later the party was not satisfied with his reply.
Angkita Dutta also participated in Bharat Jodo Yatra with Rahul Gandhi.
The order was to wait till the Karnataka assembly elections
Senior Assam Congress leader Debabrata Saikia told that the party had asked Angkita to wait till the Karnataka assembly elections. He was told that after the elections this issue would be taken up with the high command and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.
But, he did not wait and lodged a complaint with the police. She could not even provide proof of her allegations. This was tarnishing the image of the party, so the party had to take action against him.

Complaint lodged at the police station on Wednesday
On Wednesday, Angkita Dutta lodged a complaint against Srinivas’ wife at the police station in Dispur, the capital of Assam. She alleged that Srinivas and Congress leader Vardhan Yadav exploited and discriminated against her for being a woman.
On Thursday, Angkita was called for questioning by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Assam Police. According to sources, CID may start investigation in this case by registering an FIR against Srinivas.
