The construction work of the idol of Lord Rama to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple being built in Ayodhya has started. This idol will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Makar Sankranti in January 2024.
Devotees will be able to see the idol from a distance of 35 feet. On the day of Ramnavami, the sun’s rays will touch the forehead of Ramlala in the sanctum sanctorum. For this, a team of experts in astronomy and physics has been formed.

Craftsmen from Karnataka-Rajasthan reached Ayodhya
Teams of big sculptors are reaching Ayodhya to make the idol grand and attractive. Karnataka craftsman Ganesh L. Bhatt and Rajasthan’s craftsman Satyanarayan Pandey’s teams have come to Ayodhya. The teams of Padmavibhushan Sudarshan Sahu and Arun Yogiraj of Mysuru are yet to come.
After a long discussion with saints, scholars, craftsmen and painters, it has been decided that the idol will be made on the basis of the description of Balswarup (5 years) by Valmiki ji. However, some changes can also be made while shaping the idol.
The idol will be eight and a half feet high
The idol of Ramlala will be made of sky and gray colored stones, which will be very beautiful to see. This idol will be made on the form of a 5-year-old boy. Whose height will be eight and a half feet. Models ranging from 9 inches to 12 inches will be made as the format of the idol.
Ram devotees will have darshan of their idol from a distance of about 30 to 35 feet. The idol will be so big that the devotees will be able to see the eyes of the Lord and the feet of the Lord with their own eyes.
Walls on three sides of the sanctum sanctorum of Ram temple
Door frames and 20 feet high walls are being built in a part of the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple. These are being made from white marble of Makrana.
