The new government in Karnataka was sworn in on May 20, which included CM Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Priyank Kharge along with 8 other ministers.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called a cabinet meeting on Friday at 11 am. In this, a decision will be taken on the 5 election guarantees of the Congress government. Siddaramaiah had said on Wednesday that his government would implement the five electoral guarantees promised before the assembly elections. For this, earlier a cabinet meeting was to be held on June 1, but now the meeting has been called on June 2.
The officers of the Finance Department gave a presentation for the guarantees.
CM Siddaramaiah said in a press conference on Wednesday that we had given five guarantees to the people before the elections, for these guarantees the concerned officials and officials of the Finance Department gave a presentation together. All the ministers had seen the presentation, it had all kinds of information.
A meeting has been called on Friday to discuss and decide on this. It is our guarantee that we will implement the guarantees.
DK Shivakumar said- committed to implement the guarantee, avoid gossip
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had said on Wednesday that we are committed to implement the guarantee, there is no doubt about it. After the officials shared their views and inputs, some of us ministers have also shared our views. We have asked the officials to rework and present it before the cabinet.
Shivakumar had also appealed to the people to avoid any kind of gossip on the matter. He said, the state government will fulfill the promises made by the Congress before the elections. How to do it, what to do, we are thinking about it.
Know the five guarantees of Congress…
- First Guarantee- Every family will be given free electricity up to 200 units.
- Second guarantee- Graduate unemployed will be given a monthly allowance of Rs 3 thousand and diploma holders students will be given a monthly allowance of Rs 1.5 thousand.
- Third Guarantee- A monthly allowance of Rs 2,000 will be given to a woman from each family.
- Fourth Guarantee- Every poor person will get 10 kg free food grains.
- Fifth Guarantee- Every woman will get the facility of free travel in government buses.
The quota of 34 ministers in the government was fulfilled
Siddaramaiah on Wednesday handed over the information technology and biotechnology portfolio to Priyank Kharge, son of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. At the same time, his close MB Patil was given the portfolio of infrastructure development and large and medium industries. After the swearing-in of 34 ministers of the Karnataka government, Siddaramaiah kept the IT/BT portfolio and the infrastructure portfolio with himself.
The new government was sworn in on May 20, comprising CM Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge, along with 8 other ministers. 24 more ministers were inducted in the cabinet expansion on 27 May.
