good afternoon,

BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain will face rape case. Shahnawaz appealed to stay the registration of FIR on the 4-year-old allegation. But the Supreme Court dismissed Shahnawaz’s petition challenging the Delhi High Court order. In the year 2018, a woman from Delhi filed a rape case against Shahnawaz in Saket Court. It is alleged that she was raped in a state of unconsciousness.

Shahnawaz reached the Delhi High Court in August 2022 against the decision of the Saket court to register an FIR against him. But the High Court, while dismissing the petition, upheld the decision of the lower court. Now the Supreme Court has said that the matter should be investigated properly, if you are right then you will be saved. I don’t see any reason to interfere in this.

On the other hand, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju wrote a letter to the Chief Justice. He has advised to include representatives of the government in the collegium. Rijiju said that this will bring transparency in the system. This is being seen as a new attempt to bring the National Judicial Appointments Commission Act ie NJAC. The NJAC, passed by Parliament in August 2014, was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in October 2015.

Today’s major events, which will be watched

  1. Hearing in Election Commission on Shiv Sena symbol dispute case.
