The murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala was linked to the rivalry between two gangs of Punjab, Goldie Brar and Lawrence.
After the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, the Punjab Police had named 36 accused and talked about arresting them. Apart from the claims, two major failures of the police have also come to the fore in this case. Earlier dreaded gangster Deepak Tinu had escaped from police custody. Two important accused in the case, who are now in jail, were murdered during the gang war. Understand both the events in a sequential manner.
1. Police Inspector Helped Gangster To Escape From Custody: Gangster Tinnu of Lawrence gang escaped from custody on 1 October 2022. In this, the connivance of Inspector Preetpal of Mansa came to the fore. Tinnu was recaptured after a full 18 days from Ajmer, Rajasthan, after a tight cordon and with the help of police from several states. This negligence happened when the police knew that Tinu had fled from Panchkula in 2017 at the time of his production.
2. No news of enmity between two gangs in jail, two accused were killed: Another major negligence of the Punjab Police came to the fore in Goindwal Jail. The accused in the high profile murder case of Punjab Mandeep Singh Toofan and Manmohan Singh could not keep an eye on Mohana. The police was not even aware of the ongoing enmity between the two gangs in the jail. The result was that both were murdered on 26 February 2023.

From where did 30 to 40 people in jail get weapons?
Goindwal Jail itself is a high-security jail. Now the question arises that from where did the weapons reach the jail, with which 30 to 40 people clashed with each other. Rod has also been used in this gang war. It is being told that 30 to 40 lock-ups have been kept in one barrack, due to which this gang war took place.
Police intelligence is not aware of the breakdown of gangs
Gangster Goldie Brar took the responsibility of this double murder in jail, but till before the incident, intelligence agencies could not come to know that Goldie Brar and Lawrence had separated their gang from Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. Due to mutual enmity, Goldie Brar is going to execute this incident.
No checking of barracks, no news of bringing arms
According to sources, for the last few days, there was a minor scuffle between the people of Lawrence and Jaggu gang, but the jail authorities proved to be completely unsuccessful in keeping an eye on the activities of both the gang members in the jail. It is also coming to the fore that the jail officials do not check the barracks on time, due to which they could not come to know about the enmity between the two gangs.
Non-deployment of CRPF is also a major reason for laxity in security
Let us inform that non-deployment of CRPF in the jails of Punjab is also the main reason for the gang war. The presence of CRPF in the jail reduces the access of gangsters to the local police to a great extent. CRPF personnel continuously do duty in the jail without any political pressure and keep an eye on each and every detainee or prisoner. The deployment of CRPF in the jails of Punjab has become very necessary.
NIA claimed to be a cluster of gangsters
Let us inform that this is the first time after the Sidhu Moosewala murder case that the NIA entered the jails of Punjab. NIA teams raided the jails. According to sources, the team had revealed that clusters of gangsters are being formed in the jails of Punjab. These gangsters are well identified with the local authorities, due to which they easily run their network.
In order to break the cluster of these gangsters, it has become necessary to shift them to jails of South, where no officer can get access to them. After shifting to the jails of South, the clusters of these gangsters will automatically end to a great extent.

Deputy Superintendent of Goindwal Jail was arrested 4 months ago
The Amritsar unit of Punjab’s Special Task Force (STF) arrested the Deputy Superintendent of Tarn Taran’s Goindwal Sahib Jail. Deputy Superintendent Balbir Singh is accused of misusing his position to provide mobile phones to jailed gangsters and prisoners.
The police had also recovered a mobile phone from a prisoner lodged in Goindwal Jail. STF took the investigation further and made 5 to 6 more arrests in this case. Meanwhile, STF also caught a gangster named Happy. When he was strictly interrogated, he told the name of Deputy Superintendent Goindwal Jail Balbir Singh.
One thousand mobile was delivered inside the jail for 10 thousand rupees
The network of gangsters running in the jail came to light when the STF came to know in the investigation that the accused Balbir Singh used to throw the mobile inside the jail from outside when there was a demand for the mobile. The price of mobile worth Rs 1 thousand was kept in the jail around Rs 10 thousand. Had a charger been required, around Rs 2,000 would have been charged for that too.
Many secrets of Musewala murder case also got buried
On the other hand, the family members of the gangster Mandeep Toofan who died are saying that Mandeep was a fan of Musewala, he used to listen to his songs. His son was implicated in this case. Along with this, another gangster Manmohan Singh Mohana was alleged to have conducted Reiki in the Moosewala massacre.
