Maharashtra’s BJP MP Pritam Munde has come in support of the wrestlers. Pritam Munde said that when a woman makes such a serious complaint, it should be accepted as truth without any doubt.

Shortly after Pritam’s statement, his elder sister Pankaja Munde said that she belongs to the BJP but the party does not belong to her.

Wrestlers have been protesting for over a month demanding action against Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Where the opposition parties are openly supporting the wrestlers. At the same time, some BJP leaders are also keeping their opinion apart from the party’s stand.

Sister Pankaja said – she belongs to BJP, but BJP is not her
While Pritam Munde differs from the party’s stand on the wrestlers’ protest, his sister Pankaja Munde said she belongs to the BJP, but the BJP is not hers. Pankaja and Pritam are daughters of former Union minister Gopinath Munde, who died in a car accident in 2014.

While Pritam Munde did not get a ministry at the Centre, Pankaja was ignored in the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis cabinet, leading to speculation of a rift between the Mundes.

BJP MP Brijendra Singh has also supported
Prior to Pritam Munde, BJP MP from Haryana Brijendra Singh called the protest ‘heartbreaking’ as wrestlers who went to immerse their medals in Haridwar’s Ganga on Tuesday were stopped by farmers’ union leader Naresh Tikait. Brijendra Singh tweeted, “I feel the pain and helplessness of our wrestlers, which forces them to the brink of throwing their lifetime’s hard work – Olympic, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games medals into the holy Ganges.” It is heart wrenching.

Naresh Tikait took the medal and momento bundles of the wrestlers from him. He said that do not throw them in the Ganges, they will give them to the President.

Regarding the Protest of the wrestlers, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said, all the demands made by the players, including formation of a committee, registration of FIR, have been fulfilled.
