An encounter broke out between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Pak smugglers on Saturday morning at Gurdaspur on the India-Pakistan International Border. Pak smugglers were trying to smuggle heroin and weapons. Smugglers were transporting this consignment across the fencing through pipes.
Only then there was firing between BSF and smugglers. However, later the smugglers fled from there. After which BSF has recovered 20 packets of heroin and 242 rounds of bullets and 2 pistols from there.

Movement seen at 5:30 in the morning
BSF DIG Prabhakar Joshi told that BSF personnel of BOP Town (Dera Baba Nanak) unit of 113th Battalion were on patrol. Meanwhile, at 5:30 a.m. amidst the light mist, the jawans noticed some movement on the barbed wire on the border. The soldiers were alerted at the same time and shouted loudly. Despite this, the attempts of smuggling continued from the side of Pakistan.

Even after this the action did not stop, then the BSF jawans opened fire. Seeing this, Pak smugglers also opened fire. However, he could not stay ahead of the BSF for long and fled to the Pakistan border. During this, the consignment meant for supply in Punjab had to be left here.

After the Pakistani smugglers fled back, the BSF jawans conducted a search operation. During this, he found a 12 feet long pipe near the barbed wire on the border. Through this, the consignment of heroin was being passed through. The consignment of heroin and weapons was wrapped in a long cloth. When it was opened, 20 packets of heroin, 2 pistols, one made in Turkey and the other made in China, 6 magazines, 242 rupees were also recovered from it.
