Hearing was held in the Supreme Court in the Gyanvapi case.

A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Friday in the Gyanvapi case of Varanasi. The Muslim side demanded arrangement of Wudu place and toilet inside the Gyanvapi campus. While hearing, the court ordered the UP government to provide 6 tubs in the Gyanvapi campus. Said that the District Magistrate will supervise the arrangement of water. This arrangement will remain only till Eid. After this DM will inspect. After getting the order, the district administration has kept six plastic tubs in the Gyanvapi campus till late evening.

Seeing these tubs, Syed Mohammad Yasin, the head of the Anjuman Intejamia Masjid, taunted. Said that I am very grateful to the Varanasi district administration. Got this huge Idi after the goodbye prayer today. The tub was kept late this evening. The order of the Supreme Court was followed. Now in such a small tub we all have a big challenge to perform ablution in front of thousands of worshipers that the ablutions have been sealed for 11 months.

The Muslim side had filed a petition regarding this in the Supreme Court on April 6 in the bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. In this, it was said on his behalf that water is being used from the drum for Wudu. In view of Ramzan, the number of Namazis has increased. That’s why arrangements should be made for Wudu place and toilet.

Due to the holiday on 14th April, the Supreme Court had heard the case on 17th April. The court had directed the DM of Varanasi to hold a meeting to make proper arrangements for Wudu of Muslim devotees in Gyanvapi premises. DM had sent the report to the Supreme Court after meeting.

Mobile toilet will be installed
In the Supreme Court on Friday, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said on behalf of the UP government that 6 tubs would be given for Wuju. CJI said that we are recording your statement. Tushar Mehta told the bench that a mobile toilet is being arranged about 70 meters away from the Shivling-like structure in the Gyanvapi campus.

Syed Mohammad Yasin, the plaintiff of the Muslim side, said that our demand was that toilets should be arranged next to the Wujukhana. But the court has ordered to install mobile toilets 70 meters away. It will also be far away from the mosque complex.

The counsel for the Hindu side said that the faith of Hindus was hurt by making some changes inside the Gyanvapi campus.

DM had a meeting on 18th April
DM S. Rajalingam had inspected the Gyanvapi campus on April 18. Also saw the present arrangements for the worshipers coming to the campus to offer Namaz and perform Wudu. Then talked to the Muslim parties. In the meeting, Syed Mohammad Yaseen, head of the Anjuman Intezamia Masajid, a Muslim party, said, “There is no permanent place for the worshipers to perform ablution in the premises.

The namazis coming here have to face trouble. There is no proper arrangement for the water of Wudu to come out amidst the heat and sunlight. Apart from this, there is no provision of toilet in the premises.” DM S. Rajalingam sent the report to the Supreme Court after listening to everyone.

Hindu side objected to construction for Vaju

The people of the Hindu side have expressed a lot of opposition to this demand of the Muslim side. It has been said that for 11 months, the Vujukhana located in the Gyanvapi Masjid of Varanasi was sealed on the orders of the district judge’s court of Varanasi itself at that time. No tampering can be done there.

The litigants on the Hindu side have objected to any new construction for wudu inside the premises. At the same time, it has also been said that it is inappropriate to build any kind of toilet in the premises of Adi Vishweshwar. This temple is not right for dignity.

Cited for hurting Hindu faith
On behalf of the Hindu side, advocate Shivam Gaur of the plaintiff Rakhi Singh wrote a letter to the Varanasi ADM Protocol on 19 April. In which it was said on his behalf that any kind of change or tampering inside this very sensitive campus is not right. Mobile toilet and fiber tank should be arranged outside the premises for Wudu.

These arrangements should be made at a distance of about 100-200 meters from the main campus of Gyanvapi. A Shivling-like shape has been found here. Hindu faith can be hurt by making toilet or tank for Wudu. Maintain the prestige of the temple by not doing any kind of activity.
