Police Commissioner Jaskaran Singh has been blamed for the Ajnala incident in Amritsar, Punjab. The government has removed them. Naunihal Singh has now been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Amritsar in his place. Whereas, Jaskaran Singh will now join IGP Intelligence Mohali. IG Jalandhar Range Gurcharan Singh Sandhu has also been transferred.
Let us tell you that a few days ago there was an attack on the police station in Ajnala. Khalistan supporter Waris Punjab De’s Mukhi Amritpal Singh led by his supporters attacked the police station. In which many policemen were also injured. During this, police of 6 districts were deployed there to maintain law and order. Which was headed by Police Commissioner Jaskaran Singh. He was also present in Ajnala on the day of the incident.

IPS Jaskaran Singh was appointed Amritsar Police Commissioner in November 2022 after the Sudhir Suri murder case. With this, IG Jalandhar Range Gursharan Singh Sandhu has now been appointed as IG Crime Punjab Chandigarh.

Total 18 officers transferred
With this, a total of 18 officers have been transferred in Punjab Police. The Punjab Government has given orders to join the new posts as soon as possible. IPS Arunpal Singh has been posted as ADGP Modernization Punjab Chandigarh, IPS RK Jaiswal as ADGP STF Punjab SAS Nagar, IPS Gurinder Dhillon as ADGP Law and Order Chandigarh, IPS Mohnish Chawla as ADGP State Crime Records Bureau Punjab.
