Premier League Announces 15-Member Shortlist for 2024 PL Hall of Fame – News18

The Premier League, one of the most prestigious football leagues in the history of the game, has rolled out its shortlist for the 2024 Hall of Fame today.

The Premier League considers its Hall of Fame as the highest honour they can give.

The Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates individuals who have an exceptional record of success and have made a significant contribution to the Premier League since its inception in 1992.

Since the Hall of Fame’s inception in 2021, 21 names have been added to the esteemed mantle as they shall go down as inarguably some of the most influential and decorated figures in PL football history.

This year, the nominees list consists of 15 names.

Here is the full list of all the nominees for the 2024 PL Hall of Fame:

    • Michael Carrick
    • Andrew Cole
    • Jermaine Defoe
    • Cesc Fabregas
    • Les Ferdinand
    • Robbie Fowler
    • Eden Hazard
    • Gary Neville
    • Michael Owen
    • David Silva
    • John Terry
    • Yaya Toure
    • Edwin Van Der Sar
    • Nemanja Vidic

The Hall of Fame was launched in 2021, with inaugural inductees Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer, followed by David Beckham, Dennis Bergkamp, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard after voting.

In 2022, Wayne Rooney and Patrick Vieira were automatically inducted, followed by Sergio Aguero, Didier Drogba, Vincent Kompany, Peter Schmeichel, Paul Scholes and Ian Wright after voting.

Last year, Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger became the first managers to be inducted, before Rio Ferdinand, Petr Cech and Tony Adams joined them after voting.

Fans will be able to cast their votes at premierleague.com/halloffame and via the Premier League app.

The 2024 online vote will be open until 12:00 BST on Monday 8 April, with the chosen two inductees revealed on Monday 22 April.
