Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s Satyaprem Ki Katha was released last year and received a largely positive response. The audience loved Kartik and Kiara’s pairing on-screen and are eagerly waiting to know if there will be a sequel to the film. Now, producer Shareen Mantri Kedia has given an update on the same.
“Well, there is scope for that, but for now we don’t have any idea per se for part 2. But like they say, never say never,” Shareen Mantri Kedia told Pinkvilla. Speaking about her recently released projects, she said, “You know we have always believed in backing projects that have a thought behind it. But having said that, we are experimenting with all kinds of genres, which has an audience for. Whether it’s comedy, drama, action – all of it. Besides Satyaprem Ki Katha, Beyond the Clouds, and Lost, we have also made a Marathi biographical film – Anandi Gopal, and have produced a web show which is based on the real-life story of Sunny Leone. So content is and will always be the king for us.”
Satyaprem Ki Katha, directed by Sameer Vidwans, was released in theatres on June 29 last year. The story revolves around a goofy boy who wants to marry a girl that is out of his league. While the first half of the film is a typical commercial Bollywood romance, the second half takes a turn and reveals what the story is truly about.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kartik Aaryan will soon be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan. He will also be seen in Chandu Champion and Aashiqui 3. Meanwhile, Kiara Advani will soon be seen in Don 3 with Ranveer Singh. The film will be made by Farhan Akhtar. The fans are now eagerly anticipating the sequel of Satyaprem Ki Katha.
