Actor and director Anupam Kher has been a prominent part of the Indian film industry for a long time now. In his career spanning decades, he has acted in more than 500 films and captivated the audience with his outstanding acting skills. Apart from acting, he made his directorial debut with the film Om Jai Jagdish which was released in the year 2002 and starred Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and Fardeen Khan in the key roles. Recently after a long hiatus of 22 years, Kher announced his next directorial project Tanvi The Great on the occasion of his 69th birthday.
On Wednesday, Kher dropped a major update about his directorial venture. He shared that Japanese Cinematographer Keiko Nakahara is going to be the Director of Photography (DoP) in Tanvi The Great and the duo have been working together for a few weeks now.
Taking to Instagram, Kher shared a behind-the-scene picture with Nakahara from the sets of Tanvi The Great and wrote in the caption, “ANNOUNCEMENT: Happy and Honoured to present the Director Of Photography of my directorial film Tanvi The Great, Ms. Keiko Nakahara from Japan. Having worked with her for almost three weeks now I can see our story beautifully turning into reality. Jai Ho!”
In the candid picture, Kher and Nakahara could be seen twinning in white outfits and discussing a scene of the film. Keiko Nakahara has also worked as a DoP in films like Farrey, Total Dhamaal, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, and Mary Kom among others. However, details about the casting of Tanvi The Great are yet to be revealed.
Earlier on his 69th birthday, Kher announced his next directorial film with an adorable post on Instagram. He shared a video with his mother in which he was seen seeking her blessings as he embarked on this new journey. The official release date of Tanvi The Great is still awaited.
Meanwhile, on the acting front, Kher will be next seen in YRF’s Vijay 69 which will stream on the OTT platform Netflix later this year and in Kangana Ranaut’s directorial debut film Emergency.
